Who is the Rockshox xc32 for?
If you are looking to upgrade a worn out shock, or perhaps gain a little more travel from your bike this would make a good budget choice.
At just under $200, on Amazon, you will get a nice balanced fork, including a lock out for easier climbs.
Lets look at some of the features:
There is a light weight aluminium steerer tube. This will keep the overall weight of the front end down for faster and more responsive steering. The diameter is a standard 1-1/8″ so should be compatible with most bikes.
It’s also compatible with both disc and v-brakes
The travel comes in at a fixed 100mm, this will be plenty for most trail riding. I wouldn’t want to take big drop-offs, but for soaking up the bumps on the trail this will be plenty.
At the top of the right leg there is a lockout that locks the suspension out. This reduces bob while the bike is climbing, allowing more energy to be put through the rear tire.
Overall weight is 2,189g. This is perhaps a tad heavy for forks, but at this price is more than reasonable.
Looking all these features this is a stong “best in class” fork.
What are others saying:
On Amazon it receives an average review of 4.5 out of 5. Its also highly recommended by Bike Radar and others.
Comments from customers shows that there is a small negative comment; out of the box the fork is a little squeaky, but this is solved by a little fork juice and a couple of mile of running in.
It’s easy to fit, looks good and has a low price. I would have no hesitation in recommending this fork to anyone looking for a mid range upgrade.
